Order queues, long journeys, and research that takes days—your plans continue even while you are away.
Movement, loading, unloading, attack, bombardment, and landing can be arranged into a plan that your fleet executes step by step.
Fleets travel visibly inside a system. Poorly timed departures can mean late reinforcements or a missed chance to stop an enemy fleet.
Long routes include jump preparation, travel, and cooldown. Distant operations must be planned well ahead.
One technology runs at a time. Laboratories shorten the ETA, but each breakthrough remains a meaningful commitment.

Asteroids and comets drift across the galaxy on visible trajectories. A collision can kill civilians and soldiers, destroy buildings, or—rarely—wipe out an entire colony.
